Melbourne 29Dec2011:Australia won the test by 122 runs with one day to spare.Here I will provide a short summary of the match.Australia scored 333 in the first innings,two main batting performances were by Ricky Ponting(62) and Ed Cowan(68).Indian bowlers Zaheer Khan,Umesh Yadav and Ashwin took 4,3 and 3 wickets respectively.In the first innings Indian team were all out for just 282,giving Aussies 51 runs lead.Indian innings included 3 half century performances by Sachin(73),Sehwag(67) and Dravid(68).Australian fast bowlers Pattinson(2),Hilfenhaus(5) and Siddle(3) shared the Indian wickets.Australia scored 240 in the 2nd innings with the help of Ponting(60),Hussey(89) and Pattinson(37).Zaheer Khan and Umesh Yadav took 3 and 4 wickets respectively.The Indian team were all out for 169 in the fourth day and the game ended with 122 runs win for Australia
